"Compared to the larger PCBs, complete with EMI shield, that we're used to seeing from ASUS' Xonar parts, the Xonar DS is certainly diminutive, doubtless taking some hints from the small form factor of Auzentech's X-Fi Forte which proved that audio quality needn't be compromised by using a small physical PCB. Also of note here is that the OPAMPs used by the Xonar DS can be replaced by the user if you're looking for even higher quality analogue audio output."

I really want that sound card to go with my Sennheiser HD598's that I just bought but it's sold out everywhere. Must be a great card if you can't get your hands on it.

I really like the look of the user interface. The ASUS Xonar Essence STX has won a lot review awards over the years. That's excellent news for audiophiles looking to buy it.

I'd like to see TDub do some reviews on the new ASUS Phoebus Sound card
