Default Razer Carcharias Gaming Headset

Quote:
When we examined Razer's Barracuda HP-1 5.1 channel headphones, we were stoked with the unit's ability to offer surround sound, but less enthused with the bass response while in 5.1 mode. Then came the Razer Piranha Gaming Communicator, a lightweight stereo headset that was comfortable to wear for long stretches, but lacked the kind of punch we expect when lobbing a virtual grenade. Now comes the Carcharias, Razer's newest headset which, like the Piranha, offers a lightweight design but promises lots more bass. Could this third headset to pass through HardwareLogic's labs be the charm?

Default Razer Carcharias

We tested Razer's Carcharias gaming headset immediately after we finished our review of Logitech's G35 headset, which is also largely targeted at gamers. As we unpacked the former, two things surprised us: Its light weight and the fact that it relies on analog connections to your PC's line-out and mic-in jacks. The Carcharias is definitely old-school. There's no surround sound, no programmable buttons, and no glowing LEDs. But there is an upside to the unit's simplicity, especially if you have a high-end and you don't want to give it up.

Default Razer Carcharias PC Gaming Headset

Quote:
Today we`ll be looking at the Razer Carcharias, a self-proclaimed “Professional Gaming Headset”. We all know Razer for their gaming mice, but recently they have also began making audio related products, of which the humble gaming headset can’t be left out.

The box claims that these headsets deliver "True-to-Life Gaming Audio, Superior clarity and deep, thumping bass". Lets see if they can live up to this claim.
