Introduction the Gigabyte H55N-USB3
From the basic computer user to the most extreme overclocker, chances are you have seen some form of a Gigabyte product. They are almost everywhere in our little community. Whether it is motherboards, video cards, or high-wattage power supplies, Gigabyte has their hands in it. And if you are lucky enough you may have come across a cell phone or laptop.
Over the past five or six years I have reviewed quite a few of the items listed above. From the mild to the wild, we have enjoyed all that Gigabyte has sent our way. But every once in a while they release a product that gets us a bit more excited than the others, that we just can't wait to get our greedy little mits on it!
At this very moment I happen to have one of those very products, the Gigabyte H55N-USB3. What is so damn exciting about the H55N? Well, it is one of the smallest motherboards of it's caliber on the market. Based around the Intel H55 chipset, and unlike many of the ITX offerings, this new motherboard has a full length 16x PCIe slot to accommodate the most advanced graphics cards.
Don't let the size fool you, because the reports around the various forums are that the H55N-USB3 is one awesome overclocker as well. And when a motherboard has this much buzz, we normally have to see just what things are all about. In the case of Gigabyte, we know the representation of the company, and expect nothing less than a great motherboard.
At the same time we have heard great things about the new Intel Core i5 655K processor. Word on the street is it is a great overclocker when mated with the right motherboard. So we figured it was the right time to put both to the test.
