Introduction to the Patriot Xporter XT Rage
For the past few months it seems like when storage media is talked about, all that comes up in the conversation is solid state drives or USB 3.0. Granted, each is a great way to store data. One is simply fast and has no moving parts that will inevitably fail, the other is so new there isn’t really much even available for it outside of adapters or docks. There is another that we seem to have forgotten about: the flash drive. The flash drive, thumb drive, pen drive... whatever you want to call them it is still the easiest and fastest way to get data from point A to point B. Better yet, be able to do it without having to pay a lot of money for it.
Patriot has several flash drives available to the consumer. There is the Bolt, Magnum, Boost and several others, but today we will be taking a look at the Xporter Rage XT. The Rage XT is not just a tiny drive with large amount of storage capacity, but a multi-channel configuration that allows data to be transferred simultaneously to four different NAND modules at once. This allows for a quick transfer rate as well as better data security.
Patriot's take on the Xporter XT Rage
The Patriot Extreme Performance Xporter XT Rage is a USB Flash Drive with both performance and functionality. Featuring an innovative Quad Channel configuration, data is intelligently managed and transferred simultaneously to 4 NAND chips resulting in vastly enhanced performance, particularly write speeds: Rage improves on traditional USB 2.0 Flash Drives to offer up to 27MB/s read and 25MB/s write transfer speeds. Functionality and durability is designed in to the Rage with its rubber coating on the housing and retractable USB connector: the Rage is easier to hold and use, more durable to drops and daily abuse and the connector is protected when not in use. The Patriot Xporter Rage is available in 8GB, 16GB, 32GB and 64GB capacities and carries a lifetime warranty.
