If you fit the individual in the second half of the above paragraph then our next video card up for review maybe just what you need. Sapphire has introduced a new video card based on the AMD Radeon HD 6570 chipset. Boasting 512MB of GDDR5 clocked at 1000MHz and a 650MHz core clock the Sapphire Radeon HD looks to be a great alternative to the based video present on the motherboard.

sapphire radeon hd 5830 xtremeThis new card is labeled as an Xtreme model, but specifically why we're not sure. because it still carries the reference clocks. Maybe it is due to the 'extreme'-ly affordable price point. The card comes bundled with the new looking cooler that resembles those on some of the Sapphire 6xxx series. Perhaps also is because the card can be overclocked with Sapphire's GPU tweaking TriXX application. Whatever is the case, we'll definitely find this out for you, so join along and fine out if it is really Xtreme or not.

asus radeon hd6850 directcuWe have seen many retailers’ sites featuring this line of cards and we have the opportunity to look at one today. The ASUS Radeon EAH6850 boasts this DirectCU cooling technology, as well as a 790MHz overclocked Barts GPU up from the default 775MHz. Based on AMD’s latest TSMC 40nm processing, the HD6850 tops out at a mere 127 watts for power consumption. Meaning a good 500W power supply should be good enough to power one of these beauties.

sapphire radeon hd 6850That all changes as of today as AMD and its partners are topping the success of the HD 5000 Series with the brand new HD 6000 Series. The 6850 and 6870 models are already being shipped all over the world (and even up for sale at a few etailers), offering everyone new and improved performance, thanks to the new 'Northern Islands' codename Barts Pro core. Spec-wise the model we will be taking a look at (6850) has a core clock of 775MHz coupled with GDDR5 memory running at 1000MHz, while the bigger brother 6870 (Barts XT) has clocks of 900MHz and 1050MHz, respectively.

In the case of this particular GTS 450, it comes already overclocked at 810Mhz, bypassing the lowly 783MHz of the reference models. Follow along as we put this card through it's paces, and after our testing is finished, we can determine who ends up being the $150 price point champ.

Sapphire Radeon HD 5670 Ultimate

sapphire radeon hd 5670 ultimateToday, we will be looking at Sapphire’s latest video card creation. The new arrival is the Radeon HD 5670 Ultimate. The whole Radeon HD 5XXX series has been a real hit for ATI especially when it comes down to HD 5870 and HD 5970 which both put ATI back on top of the performance hill. Put like many of us we can’t afford to fork out $350 plus for a video card. So, we must settle for what our wallets can give us.

But with the Ultimate Radeon HD 5670 you will not be settling but getting a nice performing video card with all the features of the HD 5XXX series at an afford price. One feature that I personally cannot over look is the passively cooled GPU. With this card you get a decent gaming card, low power consumption and quietness. All three a big plus in my book.
